Aaaaah. Beach weather.

As the autumn temps finally arrive in Lexington, so does the urge to plan a winter getaway.

Timing is everything, right?

While I can’t predict how many days of awesome weather we’ll get on a trip to the coast, I think about overall trends for temperatures and precipitation ahead of time. I love checking the local weather blogs looking to boots-on-the-ground experts.

A quick check-in with the meteorologists ahead of time does give us the best odds of landing within better weather. It optimizes our chances at success.

But timing things to perfection is impossible. At a certain point, you just have to confidently book the flight and start counting the days. The best we can do is be aware of the overall conditions, plan accordingly, and then be prepared to be adaptable.

That’s where the lifeguards are helpful. Their job is to monitor the weather, the water and their guests. To keep an eye out for storms, riptides, sharks, and riskier activities. My job is to relax and know that my experience is being optimized.

For nearly 15 years, I’ve been helping people get to the beach called Lexington Real Estate.

Some days I’m a meteorologist. I look at the sales data, historical trends, and my own past experiences to draw conclusions that are helpful for planning. For folks that have some flexibility in their schedules (pro-tip: you might have more flexibility than you think), I can suggest better months or years.

When to:

  • buy
  • buy and not sell
  • sell and not buy
  • sell

And while timing is important, sometimes you just want or need to do it.

On those days I’m your lifeguard.

Welcome. Ready to enjoy the beach and play in the surf? Cool. I’ll keep an eye on things.
